In the Race

Now, here, you see, it takes all the blogging I can do to keep in the same place.
If I want to get somewhere else, I must blog twice as fast as that!

Military.com has an outstanding set of 20 Videos.

Please click on the link below and choose "Top Shocks of 2007"
(2nd one down in left column)

***WARNING***

These are Military videos.

This is real life.

Some of these videos contain violence and profanity.

If you can't handle real life violence and profanity...then this isn't for you, so please stay safe on FranklinNOW.

If you do venture out...be warned that Video #6 has violence and Video #7 has profanity and violence.
# 8 has one swear word.

These are worth viewing.

Some are amazing footage.

Give yourself some time to view these.

There are some great aerial shots.

And #13 is just plain freaky.

Janet,

This link should not exist in a public forum were kids can access it. I see you put in some "look out for these" warnings, but that's just going to entice the younger mind. From one blogger to another, please erase this entry before too many eyes see it.

Images of head shots with the song lyrics - NOW I'M ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EDGE AND I'M ABOUT TO BREAK!!! - playing in the background is going too far.

Thanks, Steve.

Steve,

Thanks for leaving your commment.

While I understand your viewpoint, I respectfully disagree in this matter.

I wish you had emailed me on this, as I think you have called more attention to what you are speaking of.  I do two-four blogs a day, so this would have been buried.

This is a military site.

These videos are real life and, it is what it is.

I know the music and profanity on the one video was edited in.

I can't block that out.

Parent's have to make the choice to monitor their children when they are on the internet.  Just like with television.

I did not put the videos on my direct blog.

If I had just left a blog saying there is "a set of military videos at Military.com that you just have to see" what would the differrence be?

Any younger mind who wants to see military videos could still go to the site.

Janet,

First, it's not proper to e-mail secretly on a posted issue.

Second, Saying that kids would find this video anyways is setting a poor example.

Also, I didn't know that this is why NOW started to let citizens blog.........to show disgusting images of head shot enemy troops while being glorified by a violent song.

I'm "old school" in my thinking Janet, and just because it really happened, doesn't mean you should talk about it.

What does that have to do with Franklin anways???

Please respond to this post, then we're through here. I'm not going to get into a fighting match over this.

Steve.

Steve,

"email secretly on a posted issue?"

What's up with that?  I wasn't indicating we should be secretive - I was indicating you would not be drawing attention to the issue as much if you emailed.  Where did you come up with this rule?

Seems you  have a lot of rules Steve.

I'm not setting a poor example.

Don't lay poor parenting on me.

If a parent doesn't want their child to see a military site, then they can block that site from their computer.

I'm "old school" in thinking too, Steve.

Parent's have to be responsible for their kids.  Period.

I don't have the videos on my blog.  Military.com is available for anyone to see.  I don't even link directly to the video...it links to a block of videos.

You are out of line coming over here and in your second comment now telling me how to run my blog.  Well let me tell you, your blog needs tending to of its own. You say you aren't making more comments, fine.  Then I won't pick your blog apart and give the examples of which I find inappropriate for not only children, but for the public.

Just because YOU blog about West Allis issues, does not mean we bloggers are limited to "local" issues.  Since when is that the rule?

I blog about local issues, but blog about national and world issues too.  Doesn't that interest EVERYONE?

"Just because it really happened, doesn't mean you should talk about it."

Why not?  How else do you learn about what's going on in the world?  How do you keep from repeating history if you are not informed of what happened?

Not meaning to get personal with you, but I don't want to do three blogs about my neighbors dog...even though I have one that drives me crazy.

Finally, if I recall, regarding PROFANITY...you came over here in the fall, before I was a blogger, and left a profanity on another blogger's site.  You did this in plain sight where any child could have seen it.

I wasn't blogging, but I was reading.

You think that you are "old school" in your thinking?  Is it "wholesome" of you to leave a profanity on another blogger's post?

Janet

I believe what Steve is looking for is you blogging about your neighbor and his dog urinating on your lawn after coming home from the bar or how the those damn Mexicans are moving in to your neighborhood and ruining Franklin for the good union blue collar workers.

Maybe he should write his blog more like Carol Wenzel or Mary Ann Sparks.

Yes Steve, I grew up in West Allis but I had the smarts to move out!

Wow Steve, 30 comments about a dog.

I wonder... did that dog ever kill another animal?

I bet a child might have seen that horror, Oh No ... what should we do?

That would be terrible, wouldn't it?
