WKCE scores dip in math, language

Sophomores in the Menomonee Falls School District performed above the state average on the 2007 Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts Examination.

The Menomonee Falls School Board last night reviewed the test scores, about a week after they were released by the state Department of Public Instruction.

Kathy Myles, director of teaching, learning and assessment, said the 10th-grade scores are an area of concern.

The number of students who scored in the advanced or proficient categories either remained the same or increased slightly over last year's scores in every area except math and language.

The combined score for math went down 4 percent and the combined language score went down 5 percent.
