A Classic "Christmas Song"

One of the great Christmas CD’s is The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole. The CD is named after Nat’s signature The Christmas Song written by an aspiring songwriter named Mel Torme’ (with words by Bob Wells) who played it after one of Nat’s gigs. Nat immediately loved it and began working on it late into the night.

Nat recorded the song with his trio in 1946. It has been released several times and simultaneously topped the Pop and Rhythm and Blues charts, which was unheard of back then and is still a rarity today.

There are 22 tracks, which includes many seasonal favorites such as, Away in a Manger, Joy to the World, O Little Town of Bethlehem and some amusing novelties like the Toys for Tots commercial and a blended duet with Natalie Cole.

Nat’s Christmas music had been a tradition in our family for 3 generations and now a 4th. May it bring joy to your family as well.

You can buy this in Menomonee Falls at Jenny’s and Char’s Hallmark, Best Buy, Target, and possibly Sears.
