by Jenn Rollings

The Bay View Neighborhood Association and the Milwaukee County Parks are proud to present the Jamie Breiwick Sextet at Chill on the Hill this week.  You may have heard Jamie Breiwick on 88.9 Radio Milwaukee, 91.7 WMSE or NPR’s Says You!  He can also be found playing regularly in and around Milwaukee with We Six, Clamnation or Chill on the Hill alum, De La Buena.  At age 27, Breiwick has been a fixture on the Milwaukee jazz scene for nearly a decade, with influences ranging from Miles Davis to Bright Eyes to Freddie Hubbard.

Join us at 6:30pm, Tuesday night at the Humboldt Park bandshell.  Spread out on a blanket with family and friends; the Milwaukee County Parks concessions truck will be on-hand for refreshments.

Jazzreview.com calls the Jamie Breiwick Qunitet album, Song to a Rose “Trumpet with a mellow tone, bluesy lines, sounding somewhat gritty and phrasing that keeps you listening intently.”  Song to a Rose features some of the area’s best jazz performers and can be purchased at Border’s, iTunes and CDbaby.com.

Chill on the Hill has more great music to come!  Don’t miss these great acts:
